Spain holds an important food secret: the Mediterranean Diet. Endorsed by many scientists, this philosophy encourages a healthy and balanced way of life. The International Congress on Mediterranean Diet tries to promote this dietary pattern on an international scale. More than 200 specialists from around the world will get together on the occasion of the Alimentaria Food and Beverages Exhibition to discuss the results of the latest research on the matter and the keys to effectively disseminate such information.
For more than a decade, Alimentaria has been striving to provide up-to-date information on the Mediterranean Diet, raise awareness of its beneficial effects on health and support policies that ensure its survival and promotion. In various encounters, including round table discussions and keynote sessions, speakers and participants will work together to map out ways that will make it possible to accurately disseminate one of the healthiest eating habits currently known
To this end, experts in the fields of nutrition, food safety, medicine, epidemiology, communication and nutritional policies will meet to debate the latest findings in the study of the Mediterranean Diet.
The Village
To top off the event’s academic mission, the Mediterranean Diet Village restaurant will put into practice the ideas developed during the Conference. In addition to the more formal menus offered by the Village, a “Mediterranean” version of Spain’s world-famous tapas will be available for sampling in specially prepared tasting areas.
