Coffee: Pleasure and Culture

Coffee Time is an “oasis” in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Alimentaria. A peaceful atmosphere coupled with tasting and educational opportunities are the ingredients making up this roughly 150 square metre area that can accommodate approximately 90 persons, where the world of coffee and coffee culture are brought to life for all.

Ever since its arrival in Europe, coffee has been an excuse for a break in the day's work, a reason for friends to get together, the high point of our mornings; in a nutshell, much more than just a drink.

Coffee Time is organised around the cafeteria, a practical area offering uninterrupted service to visitors. This area is waited on by catering professionals who also offer a carefully selected menu of choice coffees and provide information on each product and how each is prepared.

In addition to being a place to enjoy a coffee and have a rest, Coffee Time also set out to provide information, as happens in all the activities at Alimentaria. The walls separating the different areas were used to put up information about the most interesting aspects of coffee, such as its historical origins, the places where it is grown, the different varieties of beans and how it is processed. Reading what was on the walls while savouring a cup of the best coffee made a visit to Coffee Time a highly recommended experience for all lovers of everyday pleasures.
