
From 10 to 14 March, 2008, the Food and Beverage industry will gather in over 130,000 m2 of exhibition space and take part in the many varied events that comprise Alimentaria. 155,000 visitors from 150 countries, 5,000 exhibitors and 167 million euros in revenue for the city of Barcelona are anticipated to be just a few of the figures which will accompany the seventeenth edition of Spain's most important food and beverage trade fair – one of the world's top exhibitions of its kind.
Additionally, Alimentaria represents a true international business centre. More than 20% of the exhibition's visitors - 33,000 professionals in all - will come from abroad. Likewise, approximately 30% of exhibiting companies - over 1,500 - will come from outside of Spain. In all, about 17,000m2 of Alimentaria 2008's over 130,000m2 of net exhibition space will be reserved for foreign exhibitors hailing from 70 countries and all five continents.
Along with internationalisation, the event's organisers are working hard to enhance Alimentaria's other strategic values: innovation, professionalisation and sectorisation. These are the four basic principles upon which this exhibition is founded, and to which the success of the show's concept is tied.
