13/11/2007
The International Food and Beverage Exhibition continues to reaffirm its strong commitment to food-based education and leisure. Congresses, talks, demonstrations, conferences, exhibits... Alimentaria 2008 will devote over 9,000m2 of space to exceptional entertainment and educational activities. In this, the 17th edition, new parallel events will be added to the trade fair's long-established programme of activities oriented towards entertainment, research and innovation.

Educational and entertainment events will fill every corner of Alimentaria. Organisers have scheduled a wide variety of dynamic activities and research-oriented and internationally-focused events to complement the activities already offered by exhibitors. Together, these make up an impressive programme that will be continually revamped for each new edition of Alimentaria in order to respond to industry needs.

At the 2008 edition, the total space devoted to entertainment activities at the different shows will also be greatly expanded, from 7,000m2 (2006) to approximately 9,000m2. Such quantitative growth is the result of the incorporation of new initiatives. Of special note among the new activities are those such as the Future Shop project at Innoval – showcasing innovation in retail, the Spain of Cured Iberian Meat Products exhibit, the International Pizza, Tapas and Sandwich Championship, Alimentaria Premium and a wide variety of events related to the food and hospitality industry.

Alimentaria 2008 will consolidate all of those activities which give the exhibition its creative focus and which make it an ideal platform for research, development and innovation. Classic events such as BCN Vanguardia the International Gastronomy Congress, Vinorum, the International Food Forum, the International Congress on the Mediterranean Diet, the Spain, Land of Oils exhibit, Spain, the Country of 100 Cheeses - New! and the Interpesca Conference will once again garner the industry's attention.
