Restaurama will double its exhibition space at Alimentaria 2008, to 15,000m2

04/12/2007

The food and hospitality channel will be one of the driving forces behind Alimentaria 2008. Restaurama's move from the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue to the Montjuic exhibition centre will allow the show to greatly expand its exhibition space. The 7,000m2 devoted to the show in 2006 have been increased to 15,000m2. At the same time, the number of exhibiting companies will approach 450 for the first time, while the space devoted to activities will be doubled, to 1,800m2.

Restaurama, the show for the hospitality, restaurant and catering industry, is one of the sectors at Alimentaria with the greatest growth potential. The figures are clear in this respect. Compared to the 2006 edition, the exhibition is forecasted to double its exhibition space (from 7,000m2 to 15,000m2) while the number of participating companies is expected to experience a significant increase (from 300 to 450). Likewise, the space devoted to parallel activities will also double at this edition, growing from 988 to 1,800m2. All of this has been made possible by the reorganisation of Alimentaria 2008's exhibition space.

Thanks to its move from the Gran Via venue to Montjuic, Restaurama will be able to welcome new segments of the food and beverage world. Restaurant franchises, vending enterprises, frozen dough, pastries, breads, ice cream, convenience shops and sandwich shops will all join the show's exhibitors. As a result, Restaurama will consolidate its position as a reference point in Europe for the food and hospitality industry, and will become an indispensable meeting point for the sector.

Live cooking demonstrations with fresh-cut and ready-to-eat ingredients
Restaurama 2008 will allow food and hospitality professionals to take part in live tasting events and cooking demonstrations using fresh-cut and ready-to-eat ingredients.  The future of food and hospitality can be seen in these “fresh cut” foods - products which are clean, cut and packaged for consumption, and ready-to-eat foods – including heat-processed, cooked, pasteurised and sterilised foods which, using various ingredients, make up a ready-made meal-.
