Intervin is a point of reference for the international wine industry. Characterised by its high rates of satisfaction, loyalty and growth, the wine and spirits show is destined to become one of the areas of Alimentaria with the greatest growth in 2008, expanding from 28,000m2 to 32,000m2 of exhibition space.
Intervin is preparing for its tenth edition with a strong focus on internationalisation. After making a strong showing in 2006 as one of the sectors with the highest rates of foreign involvement, the show is set to break records in 2008. France, the UK, Russia, Turkey, Portugal, Chile and Ukraine are just some of the countries that will bring their finest wines to this exceptional wine and grape industry showcase. At the same time, national spirits such as Mexico's tequila and Venezuela's aged rum will also find their place at Intervin.
Internationally renowned Spanish wineries will also stand out among Intervin's exhibitors. Prestigious firms such as Freixenet, Bodegas Alejandro Fernández – from the Pesquera Group -, Osborne, Vinos Herederos de Marqués de Riscal, Torres and Marqués de Cáceres will once again be present at the exhibition. Among new developments, it is also worth noting that the Gonzalez Byass winery - a world leader in sales of Fino sherry - will be among the show's exhibitors.
Vinorum, Intervin's programme of activities
Vinorum, Intervin's activities area, will present two new activities at Alimentaria 2008. The first will be vertical wine tasting sessions in which the country's most prestigious wineries will participate. The second will take place within the Tempranillo Restaurant, which will suggest menu choices to its customers using an interactive question-and-answer system regarding their taste preferences.
