Issues such as food safety and respect for the environment are the driving forces behind organic food products, an industry with enormous growth potential. Alimentaria 2008 will host the third edition of the Organic Food Pavilion, the show devoted to organic foods. More than 120 national and international companies will be present in the show's 1,300m2 of exhibition space. Oils, wines and agricultural food products will be among the stars of the Organic Pavilion.

The Organic Pavilion will continue to grow in 2008. In its third edition, Alimentaria's Organic Foods Show will showcase the enormous growth potential of this sector. It should be noted that Spain is one of the world’s leading producers of this type of foods.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) will once again be present at Alimentaria, accompanied by representatives of the CAAEs -non-profit organisations devoted to developing certified organic agriculture and livestock farming in Spain- from several Spanish regions: Navarre, Andalusia, Extremadura and the Balearic Islands, among others. From an international perspective, Turkey will be one of the show’s noteworthy participants.

This edition of the Organic Pavilion will benefit from the reorganisation of Alimentaria 2008's exhibition space. Thanks to the new layout, the Organic Pavilion will share space with related shows such as Olivaria, Intervin and Vegefruit.
