The Asia Project
Testing out the industry’s chances in Asia

Alimentaria is always interested in new trade operations. That is why the Asia Project developed within the framework of the Business Cooperation Meetings, tries to make it easier for Spanish companies to become familiar with the characteristics, peculiarities and opportunities offered by three of the four most important markets in the world, according to the World Bank: India, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Emerging markets, such as the Chinese and Indian markets, are characterized by a large development of the middle classes showing consumption patterns that are yet to be defined. Both countries, and the already mature Japanese market, offer investment opportunities to Spanish companies in favour of greater international competitiveness, as well as possibilities to promote consumption and fulfil inner food demands.

The Asia Project is sponsored by FIAB and AMEC and counts on the special collaboration of ICEX, the Trade Chamber of Barcelona and the Copca office in Tokio.

The Asia Project will also host a technical seminar dealing with the characteristics, structure and operation of markets and distribution in select Asian countries.
