BCNVanguardia “Experience”
Under the umbrella of the incomparable setting that is Alimentaria, BCNVanguardia will hold its fourth edition as an internationally established culinary conference. Since it began in 2004, the event has matured a great deal, adapting to new times and the changes required by the busy culinary conference sector. For this reason, 2010 will be a year of important new features for BCNVanguardia, a year when revolution will set up shop in the stalls of Fira de Barcelona's Gran Vía venue, a year which will remain in the mind's eye of attendees as the edition that marked the transition towards the format of the future.
Alimentaria and her technical secretary in BCNVanguardia, gsr - produccions of gastronomy, have designed a radically new concept for 2010: "Experience". Total interactivity and interaction. A conference at which talks, live and in person, will be accompanied by eating, smelling, touching, feeling and enjoying. It will be an 'experience' for the six senses, something never before seen at a Spanish culinary trade show.
For the first time, BCNVanguardia "Experience" will succeed in offering what conference attendees have always asked for: total interactivity. A new conference format which will offer a new way to experience talks based on the new restaurant and food service concepts of the 21st century.
Our aim is for conference attendees to feel more like participants than they do today, for them not to be limited to listening and hearing the great chefs and other speakers, but also to taste, smell, feel and interact with them. The auditorium will become a centre for total experimentation. Global. A new gastronomy conference format which aims to represent a leap into the future, a step beyond, moving towards a necessary change of model for Spanish culinary events, focusing on the most important aspects of gastronomy today:
- Spaniards around the world
- Sustainability
- New business models
- Innovation and marketing in future restaurants and food service
- The importance of the product
- The routes of haute cuisine
- Presentation of the new Harvard and Alicia Foundation gastronomy project: Science and Cookery Course
The conference management has an exceptional technical committee to tackle this new challenge: José Andrés, Albert Castellón, Oriol Castro, Quique Dacosta, Dani García, Fermí Puig, Joan Roca and Roser Torras.
And the chefs taking part in BCNVanguardia 'Experience' will includeFerran Adrià, Juan Mari Arzak, Martín Berasategui, Christian Escribà, Carles Gaig, Alberto Herraiz, Belarmino Iglesias, Nando Jubany, Hideki Matsuhisa, Albert Raurich, Roberto Ruiz, Marcelo Tejedor, Sergio Torres and Javier Torres.
In addition, a new feature at this edition will be the BCNVanguardia’s Village, where the main sponsors of this activity will be located: Alaska Seafood, Coca Cola, Cabreiroá, García Casademont, Moritz, Silestone and Unilever.
