Lectures - Brígida Jiménez, a reference point for Spanish olive oil
Spain, the Land of Olive Oils presents an attractive programme of lectures and guided tastings presented by well-known experts. Discussions will cover highly interesting subjects, such as the role of the olive oil market professional or the potential of local olive varieties with limited production, among others. Brígida Jiménez, Director of the Agricultural Research and Training Centre of Cabra (Cordoba), will give a master lecture entitled 'Spaniards and virgin olive oil, what do we know, what do we appreciate, what do we want?' She will be offering an in-depth analysis of consumption patterns in the domestic market.
Gourmet Olive Oil Tasting Bar - Great olive oils made available to visitors
Already a classic at the Alimentaria trade show, this self-guided tasting bar is the perfect place for professionals and private visitors who want to sample, compare and discover the extra virgin olive oils that best suit their preferences and needs. This area brings together an extensive selection of more than 50 top-quality Spanish extra virgin olive oils, all exhibited with the necessary identifying information. Once again, the bar will be located next to the sector's show, Olivaria.

Taste & Flavours of Spain - Where Ibérico, wine and olive oil come together
The lecture rooms and restaurant will be situated in the new multi-purpose space Taste & Flavours of Spain, located in the lobby area of Pavilion 3 in Fira de Barcelona's Gran Vía venue. Alimentaria 2010 will be dedicating this area to conveying the qualities of three outstanding products that share a place at the heart of our cuisine: wine, Ibérico and olive oil.
