Alimentaria 2012 is reinventing three of its most important activities: the Olive Oil Tasting Bar, the Wine Tasting Area and the “Ibérico en Compañía” Restaurant, which will be grouped together under the umbrella of Taste & Flavours, a versatile space that seeks to offer professionals the chance to taste and pair these products, symbols of today's gastronomy.
Taste & Flavours will include four different areas:
- The Olive Oil Tasting Bar is an area designed for individual sampling of more than 80 gourmet olive oils, all accompanied by their own information card with organoleptic qualities.

- The Wine Tasting Area, “Vinorum”, is one of the core elements of Taste & Flavours. A special selection of cutting-edge red and white wines from domestic and international wineries exhibiting at the trade fair will be presented as part of the Intervin show. Under the name ‘50 for 2020’, this tasting area will form part of a new concept: the wines of the future. This is a selection of 50 wines that will be setting trends through the year 2020, selected by a tasting committee made up of five prestigious sommeliers chosen by the Union of Spanish Sommelier Associations (UAES in its Spanish acronym) and the Sommelier and Master Sommelier Academy of Spain (A.S & M.S.E in its Spanish acronym).

- The “Ibérico en Compañía” Restaurant is an area where visitors can discover, taste and enjoy the interrelationship amongst oil, wine and food. This area offers visitors the chance to sample three complete lunch pairings made up of a premium olive oil, an Iberian pork product and a wine. This high quality menu will be sponsored by the Jamón Ibérico designations of origin.

The Ibérico Jam is certified by the Dehesa de Extremadura, Jamón de Huelva and los Pedroches D.O.P.’s.
- All of these activities are complemented with seminars and workshops centring on the wine, olive oil and meat industries. There will be a comprehensive and tempting programme of lectures, workshops and tastings related to these areas and the most current topics, featuring prestigious speakers.
